Cantelowes Gardens
The London Borough of Camden had a small budget to make a playful intervention in this small park. The existing drab play area was unpopular with the local children and they wanted something more exciting which had a bigger impact.
Taking the idea of a big impact literally, a 60 tonne granite boulder was placed in the ground to look like a meteorite that had crashed. Fallen trees, a sand filled crater and a rock strewn furrow lead to the meterorite which has buried itself in the ground, pushing up a grass mound in front of it.
